The Yuma County Board of Supervisors selected John
to the position of Constable for Yuma County effective
May 2nd, 2005. He was previously employed by the Yuma
County's Department of Development Services
as the Senior Deputy Zoning Inspector from September
13th, 2004 until May 2nd, 2005.
John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps
in 1983 and was also stationed in Yuma Arizona
for two years. After serving one enlistment honorably
he then decided to get into law enforcement with
the City of Yuma. He is now a retired police sergeant
from the City of Yuma Police Department with years
of service from 1985 through 2004. Throughout his
career in law enforcement he has served hundreds
of civil subpoenas, criminal summons and various
other instruction to internal affairs. John has
held numerous positions during his police career
ranging from firearms instruction to internal affairs.
He has also remained active in the community by
virtue of my status as a peace officer and a senior
deputy-zoning inspector. He is currently the co-instructor
of a Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.)
class. He is also currently a certified officer
with reserve status at the Yuma County Sheriff’s
Office.
John has been married to his wife, Jenny for over 22 years and has one son, John III.
