About 1915, Chester Cummins served several
terms as Constable of the Tempe precinct. During one of
Governor Hunt's administrations, Cummins was captain of
the guards at the Arizona State Prison. He was also the
Tempe Town Marshal. He lived at 839 S. Farmer Avenue in
a board-and-batten house built in 1903 which is still standing
today. Source: Tempe Historical Museum
