Gary Wilson was appointed to the East Tempe Precinct
Deputy Constable Office in January 2004.
Prior to
being appointed, Gary served his country in the United
States Air Force Reserves. Gary started his law enforcement
career with the Detroit Police Department in 1971.
Gary was with the Detroit Police Department for over
9 years and was assigned to the Tactical Unit (special
weapons & tactic’s)
and the Gang Squad as an Investigator of gang related
crimes.
Gary obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in
Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology in 1980.
Gary continued his education with supplemental courses
in management.
In 1981, Gary joined the Chandler
Police Department and worked various duties including
patrol officer, crime prevention unit and Arizona
Post Certified Instructor. Gary retired after serving
the Chandler community for 20 years.
Gary has received numerous commendations
and awards for his work during the years he was employed
by the Detroit Police Department and the Chandler
Police Department.
Gary is a lifetime member of the
Fraternal Order of Police, with which he held various
offices including president of Lodge 14.
