Augie is currently the Constable for Santa Cruz County justice precinct one, and has served this position for over 5 years. He is currently an AZ P.O.S.T certified reserve deputy with the Santa Cruz county Sheriff’s Department. Augie also served with the Arizona State National Guard 158th Military Police Battalion Company A. Augie joined the Nogales Police Department in 1969, working with ranks, and also retired with the rank of Lieutenant in 1990 as the Operations Commander. Then in 1990 he joined the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department reserves assigned to the special response team. In 1991 he was hired full time with the Santa Cruz County Multi-agency Narcotics task force as a Narcotics Agent. Then in 1993 Augie was hires by the Insurance Sector locating, recovering U.S. stolen vehicles from the country of Mexico in accordance to the requirements. During the years 1994-1996 he was appointed Chief of police of the Nogales Police Department. He was then rehired by the Insurance Sector in 1996. In 2001 Augie was appointed as the Santa Cruz County precinct one Constable and was elected the following the year. He is also one of the founders of the Policia Internacional Sonora-Arizona. (P.I.S.A) Augie is also a lifetime member of Fraternal Order of police Santa Cruz Lodge # 10.
